BeInCrypto – Magic Eden Fixed a bug where unchecked NFTs would appear in checked sets. The error was the result of a user interface error.
NFT Market based on Magic Eden Fixed a bug where unverified NFTs were showing as verified. On January 5, the team tweeted that the impact was limited to 25 unverified NFTs traded in four verified sets. They fixed the issue and will refund the affected users.
Earlier today, unverified NFTs were showing up as part of ME’s verified collections. Over the last day, exposure was maintained on 25 unverified NFTs traded in 4 sets. We have resolved the issue and will refund those affected. Now nobody can buy unverified NFTs with ME.

The team is also monitoring the situation to assess if any other damage has occurred in the last 24 hours. You have asked users to update their browsers. as it is No one can buy unverified NFTs in Magic Eden.
Reports from the crypto community of fake NFTs surfaced on January 4th. These people have noticed that attackers are deliberately looking for high-value NFTs.

The main reason seems to be a UI issue related to the implementation of a new feature Released for Snappy Marketplace and Pro Trade tools.
The former displays newly listed and sold items on the screen in real time, while the latter allows you to view statistics in real time.
Bugs in new features caused the incident
A UI bug was present in two implemented functions. Specifically, it added unverified NFTs to collections in general. Magic Eden notes.
“The technical explanation is that our activity indexer for these two tools did not verify that the originator’s address was verified. The Magic Eden smart contract is still secure and this incident was an isolated UI issue.”
There have also been cases where users have viewed pornographic images and footage from the TV show The Big Bang Theory on the platform. Magic Eden said it a third-party image caching service was compromised.
The team also emphasized that no hacking took place and that Magic Eden is safe to operate.
Loyalty Rewards Program
Despite this setback, Magic Eden is releasing new features and undergoing development. The project has started loyalty rewards program called Magic Eden Rewards.
This initiative rewards users with “Magic Points” based on secondary business transactions on the platform. Bonuses include discounts, NFT gifts and exclusive content.
A Polygon Launchpad game project called Shatterpoint has also recently launched on the platform. This free multiplayer game is available on mobile devices. This game was followed by the release of a racing game called Infinite Drive.
